My name is Koji Okuzumi, from Japan. I am youngest in my family. I came here BYUH because I wanted to continue my education and I didn't want to give up my career that I really wished since my junior high school age. Broadcasting career is my focus in my future. I am interested in editing footages and create TV productions. I participated with broadcasting club 6 years in Japan during my junior high and high school hood and won some competition in Japan.
I want to learn about theory and some tools to develop productions and presentations better. Then I work with companies to present their promotion and training and some other purposes with multimedia.
Since I came here, I have been working in Polynesian Cultural Center. I am really absorbed in Polynesian culture so much. I worked for 2 years as a Japanese speaking tour guide. Then I started to dance some kinds of Polynesian dances such as Hawaiian hula, Maori haka and Tahitian dance in many chances. I performed in culture night and took hula class at school. At the end, I became a night show dancer. I worked the night show job for about a year. I enjoy dancing Polynesian dances as well. I learned not only their dances but also their culture and importance of team work through the job at the theater. I am grateful to be given this special opportunity to study at BYUH and to work at PCC.
