Week 1 Post #3: Audio or voice recording program
I found the program named "Audacity" that you can download from "http://audacity.sourceforge.net/". This program was created by 2 technicians, Dominic Mazzoni and Roger Dannenberg during the fall of 1999 at Carnegie Mellon University. SourceForge.net published this program as open-source software on 2000,May. It is acceptable to work with both PC and Mac. You can import and export WAV, AIFF, AU, and Ogg Vorbis files. Also you can add basic audio effects such as Echo, Phaser, Wahwah and Reverse. I am impressed those effects i.e. remove static, hiss, hum, or other constant background noises. That will help to record wherever they want even they are in little noisy situation.
Week 1 Post #2: Thoughts from readings
I was shocked that many companies spend a lot of costs to train employees. As usual, many employee don't care about how much money the company spent for the training materials and how much efforts and works were taken by many numbers of knowledge workers. This readings gave me a different view of working and a management side of perspective.
Many companies need to hire regular workers and also hire the people who knows the skills to train workers. And they need tools to teach workers. Nowadays, new technologies come and go so quickly. However there is a theory how we develop their training and evaluate the training system to change better matching with the trends and new technology.
E-Learning is getting very popular to train workers. There are benefits with companies and trainees to use e-Learning. There are some other ways to train workers such as podcasting, Blogs, Video on Demand and so on. Digitalized things are very popular and useful because people can apply their materials wherever they are unless under the internet connection. And we will be finding more and more technologies in the future. That makes me very excited. On the other hand, we need to keep learning those coming new things and determine which tool would be the best for the specific situation.

Week 1 Post#1: Introduction of myself
My name is Koji Okuzumi, from Japan. I am youngest in my family. I came here BYUH because I wanted to continue my education and I didn't want to give up my career that I really wished since my junior high school age. Broadcasting career is my focus in my future. I am interested in editing footages and create TV productions. I participated with broadcasting club 6 years in Japan during my junior high and high school hood and won some competition in Japan.
I want to learn about theory and some tools to develop productions and presentations better. Then I work with companies to present their promotion and training and some other purposes with multimedia.
Since I came here, I have been working in Polynesian Cultural Center. I am really absorbed in Polynesian culture so much. I worked for 2 years as a Japanese speaking tour guide. Then I started to dance some kinds of Polynesian dances such as Hawaiian hula, Maori haka and Tahitian dance in many chances. I performed in culture night and took hula class at school. At the end, I became a night show dancer. I worked the night show job for about a year. I enjoy dancing Polynesian dances as well. I learned not only their dances but also their culture and importance of team work through the job at the theater. I am grateful to be given this special opportunity to study at BYUH and to work at PCC.
